EXP3 THE BRIDGE- FINAL SUBMISSION

http://files.filefront.com/13920545

CLIENT ONE- BARACK OBAMA

Barack Obama’s space is influenced by his love for the game of basketball. Using the circular shape of a basketball and the basketball ring helped influence Obama’s space. The circular theme is evident throughout his entire space from the shapes and arrangement of the desks, to the shape of the stairs, to the circular poles which both hide the stairs and gives a more pleasant look and also hides the two meeting rooms located along the perimeter of the circular building. The location of Obama's desk which is situated in the middle of the circular room with the rest of the desk surrounding him represents the power Obama has. I have also included a full-size basketball court located on the roof where Obama, with his fellow colleagues can take a break and enjoy a friendly game of basketball.

CLIENT TWO- MADONNA

Madonna’s exterior shape was influenced by a photo I can come across on the internet which shows a young, provocative, vintage Madonna enjoying a red lolly pop. The interior of Madonna’s space reflects her life as a singer/songwriter, entertainer, dancer, record producer, film producer, fashion designer, author, actress and mother. I have incorporated a recording studio into her space adjacent to a room suitable for her newly adopted child with the alphabet printed along the wall and a child-friendly carpet. I decided to incorporate this area as she is now known for adopting children from overseas as much as she is known for her ability to entertain millions of people around the world. Outside on the roof, I have designed an outdoor dance studio which allows Madonna to further practice her dance moves in a larger area.

THE BRIDGE- MEETING SPACE

As both Obama and Madonna’s spaces had a circular theme to it, I decided to stay with the circular theme and design a very, clean cut meeting space suitable for both Obama and Madonna. The length of each room shows how they both use their power to connect to their audience, Obama through politics and Madonna through music. The reason behind the gap within the meeting place is show that even though they are both powerful people in their respected fields, they are still quite different from each other but the way both spaces are designed the same as if it was a mirror image shows how they are both similar in the way they communicate through their audience.

THE TABLE

Simply, without the table both Obama and Madonna would not be able to interact together as it is the table which acts as a ‘bridge’ which helps connect both powers together. Also, with the seats on a curve, the entire structure acts as a see-saw, so without one of them there, the entire table becomes un-stable and simply un-usable.

LIFT- BARACK OBAMA

Obama’s lift is a reflection on his office and continues the circular theme and Obama’s love for the game of basketball.

LIFT- MADONNA

Madonna’s lift is in a shape of an upside down lolly pop and reflects her space when Madonna was young and provocative.
